Nutrition Counseling Services

Eating and body image struggles take up so much time and brain space. I get it, and I’m here to support you in moving away from the eating disorder and toward a full life. My nutrition sessions are a judgment free zone where we can work together to improve your relationship with food and your body.

My Nutrition Therapy Approach and Philosophy

I blend evidence based medical nutrition therapy with compassionate and values-based nutrition counseling to help individuals make effective and sustainable behavior changes. I utilize tools and techniques from various frameworks that have been proven effective for the treatment of eating disorders, including Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Intuitive Eating. I believe healing happens when a person feels connected and supported and I utilize trauma informed language and techniques to foster an environment toward that end.

My practice is rooted in weight inclusivity and a rejection of diet culture in all of its forms. I believe that health is not something that can be externally prescribed but that it looks different for every individual as they lean into their body’s wisdom. I’m here to support individuals in the slow but empowering work of tuning into and trusting their bodies.

My clients are amazing. I learn from them and am inspired by them daily. I am honored to hear the stories of my clients, to bear witness to the suffering they have experienced from their eating disorder, and to be part of their recovery journey.

Other Helpful Things to Know

For teens: I use a modified family based treatment (FBT) approach with teen clients and parents. I have found parental or guardian involvement in sessions and the recovery work to be essential for teens in most cases. Let’s chat about what this might look like for your family!
